2.17 Patient information is not announced correctly (H)

2.17.1 WCAG 1.3.1 (A), 4.1.1 (A) - Desktop

On the Monitoring Patient Information page, the values within the containers are announced as one by screen readers.

For example, the Weight container displays information for the patient’s weight on a certain date; this is represented visually using a table. However, screen reader users are given all the values within this table as one announcement—there is no distinction between the date and the value or between the separate rows of the table. This forms a meaningless sequence of numbers that will confuse screen reader users.

2.17.2 Recommendation

Reformat the data into a table. Programmatically associate the values of this table with the corresponding header. For instance, the information within the weight container should be announced as “row 1 date 21/09/2022 weight 62 kg.”
